“the art of being a succcessful designer was to be four years ahead” Logo Design Love: A Guide to Creating Iconic Brand Identities.
David Airey is a freelance designer who specialises in brand identity. A lot of his work is minimalist, using subtle designs to bring out the end result. Despite this, he manages to make every brand different from another, and has each one stand out individually from another. David is always consistent with the thought of making sure a successful designer needs to think ahead of the present.
What is really striking about his work, is how he uses limited colour and detail to bring out his work. I love how he has broken every brief down and stripped the layers to make sure there is nothing left to take away. David has really influenced and inspired me to think about looking in the future more, and drawing more towards minimalism. Personally, I think minimalism shows a much clearer and fresh appearance to any design, whether it be brand identity, layout or product. I would love to implement his style in my articles and future projects, and follow his advice.
